What is a via ferrata?
A via ferrata is a type of route to climb a mountain that with a permanently installed security system, provides people without any experience in climbing and using a minimum of equipment; the opportunity to move through spectacular mountain scenery. The climber is clinging all the time to a steel cable (lifeline) that runs the entire route, through a double-carabiner system (set via ferrata). Metal ladders, suspension bridges and similar climbing facilities are used. The descent is by a rappel of 100 meters and a mix of via ferrata and hiking.
Who can climb the via ferrata?
Any person in good health and who can handle the height of the stairs. The minimum age for the via ferrata of the Sacred Valley of the Incas is 8 years of age.
We reserve the right of admission, according to our judgment to determine if the persons are suitable for via ferrata.
Without exception, climbers of the via ferrata must always be accompanied by a guide.
What equipment is used?
A standard climbing harness, helmet, gloves and a double system, with a power dissipator specially designed for climbing via ferrata (via ferrata system). These elements will be supplied by Natura Vive.
What should I bring?
Wear light clothing and good shoes (tennis, light hiking boots, etc. No sandals). Keep in mind that as you go up it will be cold and windier, you can bring extra clothes in a small backpack. You will need at least 1 liter of water. You can bring your vaccine bottle, we have a bison of purified water in neuters base and you can fill it at the beginning and at the end of the activity. Let's be friendly with the environment, recycle bottles, we provide the water, you provide the bottle.
Duration of via ferrata.
Arrival, delivery of the equipment and safety talk will take 30 minutes. The ascent and descent of the road may last between 3 and 4 hours according to the rhythm of the group.
