Cusco – Quillarumiyoc – Tarawasi – Chonta – Cañón del Cóndor.
Viewpoint of the Condor Chonta Cusco. It is located in the Canyon of the Apurimac River in the Community of Chonta in the district of Limatambo Cusco at 70 kilometers and 2 hours by bus from the Imperial City of Cusco.
Today, Mirador del Condor Chonta Cusco. It is an excellent place to observe the condor which is the largest bird that flies and in the time of the Incas was a sacred bird also considered as an Andean spiritual messenger.
Viewpoint of the Condor Chonta Cusco. It is the new tourist circuit for those who want to get out of the ordinary, more than anything, for those who love bird watching especially Cóndores.
At the same time you can see: eagles, hawks, kestrels, hummingbirds among others and also in the tour you will visit the small and beautiful archaeological remains such as; Killarumiyoq and Tarawasi.
In the tour we will have excellent panoramic views, valleys full of crops formed by steep mountains some covered with snow and we will also visit the following small archaeological complexes.
Killarumiyoc. It was a temple dedicated to the Moon (mama killa), this is a masterpiece spit on a single rock and around it you can see huge agricultural terraces, then visit Tarawasi. It was a place of rest for those who went to the Chinchaysuyo and built by Pachacutec with fine cellular style lace and then we will arrive to Limatambo where we will have our delicious lunch.
Later we will travel to the Chonta community, from where we will start walking for 1 hour and a half to the Mirador del Condor Chonta Cusco (optional horses).
From 2:00 p.m. the condors begin to return from their daily activities, by then we will be ready to witness the majestic flight of the condors, at least we can see about 10 condors, but in this canyon there are more than 100 and also other birds that share this bed with the condors, finally we will return to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 7:00 p.m.
